Windscreen replacement for your Peugeot Expert

The Peugeot Expert is the result of one of PSA's
many collaborations. It is a special model that is mainly used as a company car. This also means that the total sales figures are disappointing: by mid-2019, just 55,000 models had been sold in Europe. If a windscreen replacement is required for your Peugeot Expert, you can go to the after market for as little as € 269.

Before we look further at the possibilities of replacing the car window with after market automotive glass, we first look at this model where especially the third generation shows impressive features.

The Peugeot Jumpy - excuse: the Peugeot Expert

In 1994, the Citroën Jumpy came into production. Citroën chose to produce it again in Sevel Nord.
It wasn't long before the sister models came on the market. Unfortunately, it turned out that PSA had again opted for badge engineering.
In other words: PSA takes a model, removes all logos, does some minor adjustments and sticks other logos on it.

The Peugeot Expert and Fiat Scudo had an easy birth, but the great good fortune for PSA was that all models ended up in a wide market where there was a lot of demand for strong models. Moreover, the complete list of sister models (including names for specific regions) is considerably longer. All sister models of the Peugeot Expert in a row:

  1. Citroën Dispatch
  2. Citroën SpaceTourer
  3. Opel Zafira Life
  4. Vauxhall/Opel Vivaro
  5. Toyota ProAce
  6. Fiat Scudo
  7. Peugeot Traveller

The Peugeot Expert and Fiat Scudo were launched a year later than the Citroën Jumpy. In 2004, all models were given a facelift, only to be replaced three years later by the second generation. Again, the differences between the models were minimal, even after the facelift in 2012. A new badge will be launched in 2013: the Toyota ProAce.

The first generation: Sevel Nord as a clear basis

The mother of this long list of names, the Citroën Jumpy, is by no means a new or refreshing model. This type was developed in Sevel Nord and that is easy to see, because the basis of the Eurovans
is clearly visible. The design and structure of the car is similar to that of the Citroën Evasion, the Fiat Ulysse, the Lancia Zeta and of course also the Peugeot 806. The biggest difference between all models would be the engine range.

The second generation: including the Tepee

In 2007 the second generation of all models came on the market. For Peugeot this meant an addition to the range, because now also the Tepee version of the Peugeot Expert came on the market (for passenger transport instead of a delivery van).

After the second generation Fiat would no longer be part of the cooperation. The successor of the Scudo is therefore the Fiat Talento, which in turn was a rebadge of the Renault Traffic.

The third generation: PSA wants to take over the market

In 2016 PSA showed the third generation for the Citroën and the Peugeot. The Peugeot continued to be called Peugeot Expert, but that was also the only major similarity with the previous generation of the car. PSA decided to introduce a lot of features in the models to make the type more popular. For example, the HUD is already available as an option and all traffic signs can be read by the car, so that it adapts to the maximum speed (if desired).

In addition, the emissions of the diesel engines were considerably reduced, so that the models met the latest environmental requirements. The EMP2 platform has also been chosen, making it possible to do more if you want to convert the car or have it modified (Moduwork model).

Nice extras, but at the same time an emergency grip from PSA. The idea behind this: PSA wanted to increase its market share in Europe by 2 percentage points and this requires a lot of work. Especially when we look at the sales figures of the Peugeot Expert in Europe until mid-2019. Just over 55,000 models were sold, which is not enough.

In the field of delivery vans and light trucks, PSA has not been able to perform miracles with this relatively weak version of badge engineering. Ford is still much higher on the list and market leader Volkswagen can't feel the French breath in the neck yet. PSA will have to take much bigger steps to achieve this.

When should the windscreen of your Peugeot Expert be replaced?

Do you have a Peugeot Expert in your fleet and has your commercial vehicle suffered window damage? This does not always mean that you have to have the Peugeot Expert's windscreen replaced immediately. Not all forms of windscreen damage are rejected for the car inspection. According to the law, the windscreen must be replaced when the windscreen damage is in the field of vision of the driver and:

  • This is an asterisk or chip with a diameter of more than 20 millimetres
  • This is a branched crack

Isn't the glass damage so extensive? Then you can wait with buying a new car window, but keep an eye on the extent of the windscreen damage. At large temperature differences, windscreen damage can become greater. For the costs you do not have to leave it. At the after market you will find very attractively priced windscreens for your Peugeot Expert or Citroën Jumpy.

Can I replace the Peugeot Expert windscreen myself?

As an automotive glass expert, we would advise you not to replace windscreens if you do not have much experience with them. Replacing a side window of the Peugeot Expert is usually easy to do, but windscreen replacement is a job for the experts. This has to do with the function of the windscreen and the risks of incorrect installation. The windscreen also determines the stiffness of the chassis. Incorrect fitting can result in the windscreen coming loose or leaking, which in turn increases the costs.

If you choose our after market windscreens, the windscreen of your Peugeot Expert will be replaced within three working days. Can't wait that long, because your company car can't be used anymore due to the current car window damage? Then place an urgent order, we will make sure that a new windscreen is fitted in your Expert within 24 hours.

How much does a new windscreen cost for the Peugeot Expert?

For € 269 you will have a new windscreen for the Peugeot Expert (suitable for the years 1994 up to and including 2006). This windscreen is of course also suitable for the Fiat Scudo and Citroën Jumpy. If you have an Expert with a production year after 2006, then you already have a new windscreen including a rain sensor for € 299.

Why choose after market automotive glass for the Peugeot Expert?

You want the best for your car, but you don't want to pay unnecessarily much? Then after market car windows are the best option for the Peugeot Expert. This automotive glass does not contain a brand logo like the windscreens at your PSA dealer and that is the only difference. Together with the price of course, because the brand logo is missing which makes the price much lower. Furthermore, the windows meet exactly the same requirements and are made in the same factories as the Peugeot branded windows.
