Affordable windscreen replacement for your Polestar

Polestar is not just any brand that focuses on making electric cars. This manufacturer is a premium brand that originated from Volvo and that would focus exclusively on the higher segment, with high standards and numerous features and systems to make the cars excellent models for a wide range of users. If you have a Polestar and need to replace the windscreen, you will find the best car windows at attractive prices with us. Before we look at this further, let's first take a closer look at Polestar.

Polestar, the brand that originated from Volvo

Polestar is one of the lesser-known car brands, mainly due to the brand's young age. The history of Polestar began in 1996 when Flash Engineering (a racing team in Swedish motorsport) was sold and renamed Polestar Racing. This company would modify Volvo models into racing cars. It would take until 2009 before Polestar Racing officially became a partner of Volvo under the name Polestar Performance. In 2015, Volvo decided to take over Polestar completely and turn it into a car manufacturer in 2017 that would exclusively manufacture electric cars.

The racing team still exists, but has been given a new name, Cyan Racing. This team also works closely with the Swedish car manufacturer.

An independent brand since 2017

In 2017, Volvo announced that Polestar would become an independent brand and would focus on developing and manufacturing fully electric cars. The first car was the Polestar 1, which was made in China. The Polestar 2 followed in 2019, and from that moment on, the designers and developers would not sit still. This was clearly evident in 2023, when Polestar announced the construction of its new headquarters in Gothenburg, a facility covering no less than 80,000 square metres.

Polestar electric car models

Polestar was going to focus on fully electric models, but the Polestar 1 was not one of them. After all, it was a plug-in hybrid, which means that there was still a combustion engine under the bonnet. This model was taken out of production in 2022, and all models since the Polestar 1 have been fully electric.

Replacing Polestar windscreens: when should this be done?

Although Polestar manufactures high-quality cars and pays close attention to detail and the use of strong materials, the car windows of this brand are just as susceptible to damage as the car windows of other brands. This means that there is always a risk of windscreen damage while driving, in car parks and even when the car is parked in the garage at home.

Damage to car windows is always annoying. When it comes to one of the side windows or the rear window, it will even shatter because it is made of tempered safety glass. In the event of damage, the car window of the Polestar shatters into thousands of pieces to prevent injury to the occupants. When it comes to the windscreen of your Polestar, the story is completely different. The windscreens of modern cars, including those of Polestar, are made of laminated glass consisting of two layers held together by a layer of PVB film.
This means that a small stone hitting the windscreen will, at most, cause a crack or a chip. These types of windscreen damage are not always a cause for panic, as in most cases you can simply continue driving with the damage. Incidentally, the Polestar 3 is equipped with laminated side windows and a laminated rear window.

The windscreen of your Polestar does need to be replaced if there is a cracked crack or a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres, but only if the damage is in the driver's field of vision. This is the direct field of vision when you sit in the driver's seat and look over the steering wheel.

Are you looking for a cheap replacement windscreen because you want to have your car window replaced without claiming on your insurance or because it is a DIY project to refurbish a car? Then we have good news for you, because our replacement windscreens for the Polestar are much cheaper than the original car windows.

After market Polestar windscreens versus original automotive glass

Our car windows are replacement windscreens, which means that they do not have a brand logo, but are otherwise made in exactly the same way and often in the same factories as the original windscreens. However, Polestar windscreens are much more expensive because they have a logo that gives them an exclusive character, which is reflected in the price.

You can quickly and easily see how much a new windscreen for your Polestar costs by selecting the Polestar model you want to replace the windscreen for at the top of this page. All prices include VAT, so you will never be faced with any unpleasant surprises when you choose us.
