The Volkswagen Taigo is not really a unique model, especially since it is a modified version of another successful Volkswagen model. Still, the Taigo would become fairly successful, partly because of its rugged look and robust design. More than 7,000 units of this model were sold in the Netherlands. If you have a Taigo whose windscreen needs replacing, you have come to the right place. Before we surprise you with the low price of our new Volkswagen Taigo windscreens, let's take a brief look at this model from the German car manufacturer.
The story of the Taigo begins not with the Taigo itself, but with the Volkswagen Nivus that was shown in Brazil in 2020. A year later, this model would also hit dealerships in other South American countries. In July 2021, the model also came to Europe, where it was renamed the Volkswagen Taigo.
The model was not very new, by the way. The doors, windscreen, roof frame, suspension and most of the interior were simply copied straight from the sixth-generation Volkswagen Polo. The big difference was that the Taigo would look much more robust, partly because of the higher roof, and the significantly larger boot of 415 litres (versus the Polo's 300 litres).
The model was placed on the MQB-A0 platform, which immediately proved to have a considerable drawback. Since this platform does not support all-wheel drive, it means that the Volkswagen Taigo never entered the market with this option, something that was a big downer for the model's popularity.
Looking at the popularity of the Volkswagen Taigo, something immediately stands out. Whereas Volkswagen is normally particularly successful in Europe, the Taigo has been especially successful in South America, with some 200,000 units sold in Brazil alone at the time of writing, and even relatively high figures for Argentina and Mexico, not exactly countries you would associate with a fondness for Volkswagen. Yet this is easily explained. After all, Volkswagen chose to develop and build this model in Brazil, which ensured that the model became a big success here in particular.
In any case, what the Volkswagen Taigo did give us was a memorable advertisement. Whether it's a great ad we'll leave in the middle, as only one feature of the car is shown, but chances are that the clip below will put a smile on your face.
Windscreen damage is always annoying and at the same time, the risk of a damaged windscreen is inevitable when you use your Volkswagen Taigo regularly. Although others would like you to believe that you should always go straight to a workshop for a new windscreen or chip repair, this is not the case. The Volkswagen Taigo windscreen should be replaced only when the damage is in the driver's field of vision and involves a branched crack or a chip at least 20 millimetres in diameter. This is too distracting while driving, obstructs your view of the road and can reflect incoming light in an unpredictable way, which can cause glare.
In all other cases, you may continue driving with windscreen damage, but be sure to check the price of our automotive glass before you decide to do so.
Because you already have a new Volkswagen Taigo windscreen for €399. That includes VAT, and does not include any additional costs for fitting and/or delivery. Our prices are much lower than those of the Volkswagen dealer, and the reason for this is somewhat remarkable. This is because the quality of the car windows is identical; they are made in exactly the same way. However, the original windscreens are fitted with a brand logo and this gives the automotive glass an exclusive character, which only makes for a higher price.
The fact that with us you choose car windows with the best value for money is immediately apparent from the fact that our new windscreens are often still cheaper than second-hand automotive glass for the Volkswagen Taigo.
Saving on a new windscreen is a smart choice, but trying to save more by replacing the windscreen yourself is not. If you have little or no experience in replacing car windows, chances are that something will go wrong during the process of windscreen replacement. A small mistake can already cause (considerable) damage to the new windscreen or your car, which only increases costs. That is why we cooperate with professional fitting partners who replace car windows on-site. So you have nothing to worry about and never have to go to a garage or workshop to have your windscreen replaced.
Are you a professional yourself or do you know someone who can replace the windscreen of your Volkswagen Taigo? Then you can also opt for a new windscreen without fitting. You simply indicate this during the ordering process, and the page will adjust the price immediately so you always know exactly what you are paying.
Are you looking for a new windscreen for your Volkswagen Taigo and want to save on price but not quality? Then you have come to the right place. Of course, you can also always count on optimal ordering convenience and windscreen replacement within a short period of time, so that you will soon be able to safely hit the streets again with your Taigo.
