When the Kia EV4 was launched, it turned out not to be an SUV or a crossover, but a traditional compact mid-range car – only fully electric. With six trim levels and manufactured in Europe itself, this model was bound to be a success in the already crowded electric car market. If you have a Kia EV4 with windscreen damage and want to know when the windscreen needs replacing and what prices to expect, you’ve come to the right place. Before we look at our affordable, high-quality car windows, however, let’s first take a brief look at the EV4 itself to see just how successful it has actually become.
In 2023, the Kia EV4 Concept Car made the news, and was due to be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November of that year. However, it wasn’t until 2025 that the Kia EV4 actually hit the market, following the Kia EV3, and it was immediately available as a hatchback and saloon – so this time, not an SUV or crossover, but a more traditional model. The EV4 is manufactured in Slovakia (and therefore not in Asia) and features a fourth-generation battery system, meaning its range is well over 600 kilometres, a feat largely due to lower energy consumption, which in turn is attributed to improved thermal management within the battery itself. This can be further optimised by fitting a heat pump (not standard on this model).
The saloon version has a sporty look, largely thanks to the rear roof spoiler (above the rear window). Both versions are fitted with a 12-inch infotainment system, but if you really want to be able to rely on ADAS systems, it’s worth checking the trim levels. There are no fewer than six of them.
Another point to note is that Kia has developed two battery variants for the Kia EV4. The smaller battery pack is a 58.3 kWh unit with a range of around 435 kilometres, whilst the larger battery pack (81.4 kWh) offers an additional 200 kilometres of range. For home charging, all versions can charge at a maximum of 11 kW (around 11 hours for a full battery). For DC charging, it takes about half an hour to go from 10% to 80%. As the charging curve is fairly flat, the charging speed remains fairly consistent throughout the process, which can be a disadvantage compared to other electric cars.
The Kia EV4 has strong pros and cons. The generous range (of the more expensive version), value for money and design have received much praise, but at the same time it is a ‘half-estate’ positioned in a market dominated by minis, SUVs and crossovers, and it also faces competition from the electric versions of the Peugeot 308 and the Opel Astra. The fact that Kia announced just before the launch that the EV4 would not be coming to the United States (without further explanation) also raises questions. Nevertheless, it soon became clear after the launch that there was demand for this model, and at present nearly 1,000 units have been sold in the Netherlands, meaning that at the time of writing, the Kia EV4 is on track to beat the sales figures of the Kia Shuma, Kia EV9 and Kia Optima.
What is clear, in any case, is that Kia is on a roll with a series of hits: strong EV models that are performing well all over the world and have become a familiar sight on our streets. The same cannot be said of the adverts, as advertisements such as the one below certainly do not immediately entice us to visit the dealership.
An unobstructed, clear view of the road is important for your safety and that of other road users. That is why there are strict rules regarding windscreen damage and driving with a clear windscreen. However, the windscreen does not need to be replaced in all cases of damage. Only if the damage is within the driver’s field of vision and involves a branching crack or a chip with a diameter of at least 2 centimetres should you immediately look for a new Kia EV4 windscreen. In other cases, you can choose to continue driving with windscreen damage, but please do check the price of a new Kia EV4 windscreen below if you choose us.
You can get a new Kia EV4 windscreen from us for just €899. This makes us considerably cheaper than your Kia dealer, whilst the windscreen is of exactly the same OE quality. The price difference is down to the brand logo featured on the original windscreens. This logo adds nothing to the windscreen itself, but does lend it an exclusive character that is reflected in the price tag.
If you choose us, you are therefore choosing the same quality as at the Kia dealer, but at a significantly lower price and with much greater convenience. We are usually much faster than your brand dealer, and with us you can always opt for windscreen replacement on-site, so you never have to drive on the road with a damaged windscreen.
We strongly advise against attempting to replace the windscreen on your Kia EV4 yourself, and we have two reasons for this. Firstly, it is unwise and, in many cases, even dangerous to tinker with an electric car yourself due to the high voltages involved. Car mechanics even wear special gloves when repairing electric cars to reduce the risk of accidents.
Furthermore, replacing a windscreen is a difficult task. The Kia EV4 windscreen is large and heavy, and it must be fitted correctly to avoid problems. Even a minor mistake can cause significant damage to the new windscreen or the car. To make things as easy as possible for you, we work with professional fitting partners who replace car windows on-site throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. You can easily arrange this when ordering your new windscreen; the page always adjusts the price to your preferences, so you always know exactly how much the new Kia EV4 windscreen will cost you.
Do you need a new Kia EV4 windscreen and want to choose the best quality, optimal ease of ordering and the lowest price? Then you’ve come to the right place. If you can’t find the right Kia EV4 windscreen or have any questions about one of our products or how we work, please don’t hesitate to contact us so we can assist you personally.
