The Kia EV9 was launched as the second model in the EV range and immediately made a striking impression, particularly due to the size of this spacious model. Although this immediately implies that the Kia EV9 is designed for a smaller market, the sales figures speak for themselves and it has become a huge success. If you own a Kia EV9 and need the windscreen replaced, you’ll find attractively priced, dealer-quality car windows with excellent ordering convenience. Before we tell you more about this, let’s first take a brief look at this large electric car from South Korea.
The Kia EV9 Concept was unveiled back in 2021 in Los Angeles and stood out not only for its 100 kWh battery pack (alongside the smaller 76 kWh version), but also for the fact that the car could be transformed into a meeting room within minutes.
It would take until 2023 for the Kia EV9 to actually hit the market, and within a few months the model was already available at dealerships across Europe. The Kia EV9 has become a mid-size crossover SUV with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, is built on the e-GMP platform (just like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 9) and is said to be the first model to feature the CCNC system (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit), with a panoramic display incorporating a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12-inch infotainment system.
Just like the concept car, the model is available with 6 or 7 seats, with the second row of seats able to swivel 180 degrees (to create a meeting space), and the EV9 is packed with features and functions, including cameras instead of wing mirrors, ergonomic seat massage, parking assistance and ambient lighting.
That may seem excessive, but we mustn’t forget that the Kia EV9 is not just a car. Models like this are also referred to as ‘mobile hotel rooms’, in which you can easily spend the night, thanks in part to the powerful V2L function (3.8 kW output), built-in sockets and Utility Mode, which regulates the temperature and power supply whilst the car is parked. In addition, and just as importantly, the seats in the second and third rows can be folded down, creating enough space to fit a mattress.
What has made the Kia EV9 even more popular is that this model can charge at 250 kW using DC chargers (at both 400 and 800 volts). This means it takes less than half an hour to charge the battery from 10 to 80 per cent. If you opt for an AC charging point, the car can charge at a maximum of 11 kW. This results in a total charging time of 10.5 hours to charge the battery from completely empty to fully charged.
The range of the top-of-the-range model (100 kWh) is approximately 500 kilometres. The Kia EV9 with a 76.1 kWh battery pack has a range of around 450 kilometres. Please bear in mind that these figures are based on ideal conditions, so in colder weather the actual range will be significantly lower.
The Kia EV9 came second in the ANWB Caravan Towing Vehicle of the Year test; it is popular among holidaymakers seeking maximum flexibility and offers practical benefits for businesspeople who want to be able to work or hold meetings whilst on the move. At the same time, it remains a large SUV in a market where smaller cars are particularly in demand, the entry-level price is high (from €70,000) and there is fierce competition in the market, including from the Hyundai Ioniq 9, BMW iX Drive and the Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro. However, the Kia EV9 has simply become another hit in the South Korean carmaker’s EV range, managing to sell over 2,000 units in the Netherlands, leaving the Kia Optima and Kia Shuma trailing behind.
When it comes to the Kia EV9, we simply cannot let you miss the video below. Whilst it initially appears to be the ‘making of’ a commercial, you’ll soon realise that this 3-minute video cleverly showcases the model’s numerous advantages and features.
A clear, unobstructed view of the road is a key factor when it comes to road safety. This is precisely why there are strict regulations regarding windscreen damage, particularly when such damage is within the driver’s field of vision – that is, the area directly above the steering wheel (the part of the windscreen directly in front of the driver’s face). If there is a branching crack or a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres in this area, the windscreen must be replaced. You must not continue driving the car, and your EV9 will therefore not pass its MOT.
If the extent of the windscreen damage is limited or if the chip or crack is located somewhere other than in the driver’s field of vision, you may choose to continue driving with the damage. However, please do take a look below at the price of our new Kia EV9 windscreens before making this decision.
If you choose us, you can get a new Kia EV9 windscreen for just €1149. Our price is much lower than what your Kia dealer will charge you, whilst the quality of the automotive glass is identical. With us, you get dealer-quality automotive glass without paying the full price, because our windscreens do not feature a brand logo that adds exclusivity and thus a significantly higher price.
The price difference is so significant that our new windscreens are often even cheaper than second-hand car windows for this model, making it very easy to make the right choice.
The Kia EV9 is a fully electric car with a substantial battery pack, which means that even professional mechanics use safety gear and take extra precautions when carrying out repairs and maintenance on this car. That is not the only reason why we advise against attempting to replace the windscreen yourself; replacing a windscreen is a tricky job where a lot can go wrong, and every mistake leads to higher costs and greater risk for you. That is why we work with professional fitters who replace car windows in their garages and workshops throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. On-site windscreen replacement is even possible.
Do you run a garage or workshop and are you looking solely for a new car windscreen, to then fit it yourself for your customer(s)? In that case, you can also choose to order just the new windscreen from us. It is even possible to collect your order from us (by appointment only).
Do you have a Kia EV9 that needs a new windscreen and want to be sure you’re not paying too much, whilst still relying on dealer-quality service and professional windscreen replacement, with everything taken care of down to the last detail? Then order this windscreen from us today, so it can be delivered (and fitted) within a few days.
