Affordable windscreen replacement for your Seat Tarraco

The Tarraco is one of the largest and most luxurious SUVs from Spanish manufacturer Seat. It was a huge success, but was taken out of production after a few years and has not even been replaced by a successor model. In this article, you can read all about why this is the case and when the windscreen of the Seat Tarraco needs to be replaced due to windscreen damage. If you are looking for a new Seat Tarraco windscreen, you have come to the right place. We offer the cheapest windscreens for your Seat without compromising on quality.

2018-2024: the production years of the Seat Tarraco

Tarraco is the name of a city in the ancient Roman Empire, now called Tarragona, located in Spain. However, the Seat Tarraco is not manufactured there: since 2018, the D-segment SUV models have been manufactured in Wolfsburg, at the Volkswagen factory. The idea was to market a large, luxury SUV that would be positioned above the Seat Arona and Seat Ateca, which is why the MQB A2 platform was chosen, giving the Tarraco a kinship with both the Volkswagen Tiguan (Allspace version) and the Skoda Kodiaq.

The Seat Tarraco was the first model to feature Seat's new design style, with a significantly larger grille at the front of the car, harking back to Seat's original style that was prominent in the 1990s. The Seat Tarraco was also available in four different trim levels between 2018 and 2024, which undoubtedly contributed to the model's success.

No successor to the successful model?

Seat called the Tarraco a success, but decided not to make a second generation of this model. That may seem like a strange choice, until you see that all attention has shifted to the Cupra Terramar. This model is about 20 centimetres smaller, but is offered in exactly the same market segment. A second generation of the Tarraco would therefore mean that the company would be competing with itself, which is never a wise choice for a car manufacturer. Especially since this flagship model from Seat was already very similar to the Skoda Kodiaq, and Volkswagen seemed to be shooting itself in the foot with that.

How successful has the Seat Tarraco actually been?

The Tarraco's sales figures were not incredibly high, but no one expected them to be, given that this is a D-segment SUV, i.e. a considerably more expensive model than the average SUV for city driving. Nevertheless, an average of more than 500 units were sold in the Netherlands each year (figures for the standard Tarraco and the Tarraco PHEV combined). However, with a total of less than 4,000 units sold
in the Netherlands, it remains a modest success, especially when you consider that the Tarraco models are far behind the Seat Malaga, Seat Ronda and Seat Fura in the ranking of the best-selling Seat models in the Netherlands.

Many comparison videos have been made for the Seat Tarraco, as well as numerous advertisements that clearly show why this model is the flagship SUV from Seat. And then there is the advertisement below, an advert that was broadcast in Great Britain and which makes us wonder whether the Spanish Seat brand mainly wants to teach us moral lessons and has scoured particularly beautiful regions for a stunning image, or whether it is trying to sell a car.

When should the windscreen of your Seat Tarraco be replaced?

If you use your Seat Tarraco regularly, the risk of windscreen damage is inevitable. A small stone splashing up from the tyres of the car in front of you can cause windscreen damage, but when does damage to the windscreen mean you need to look for new automotive glass? There are two cases: when the damage is in the driver's field of vision and involves a chip with a diameter of 20 millimetres or more, or when it is a branched crack. In these cases, the windscreen damage is too dangerous to continue driving with and your car will fail its next MOT.

Is the damage in a different place or is the extent of the windscreen damage in your Seat Tarraco (still) limited? Then you can choose to continue driving with a damaged windscreen. But be sure to check the price of a new Seat Tarraco windscreen below before you decide to continue driving with a chip or crack in your windscreen.

How much does a new windscreen for your Seat Tarraco cost?

You can get a new Seat Tarraco windscreen for €399 when you choose us. This includes VAT, and this windscreen is also suitable for the Volkswagen Tiguan. If you have already inquired at the Seat dealer about the cost of a new Seat Tarraco windscreen, you are probably wondering how we can offer our new car windows at such low prices. This is solely due to the brand logo, because the quality of the automotive glass is identical. Because our windscreens do not have a brand logo, they lack the exclusive character, which means a considerably more attractive price for your Seat Tarraco windscreen.
