Only green energy was used in the production of the model, and all emissions that are unavoidable during production are offset by “CO2 credits”, i.e. an agreement whereby emissions are purified from the air. This should make the Audi Q4 e-tron a CO2-neutral model. Perhaps this even contributed to Bloomberg (one of the largest media companies in the United States) calling the Q4 e-tron a strong alternative to the Tesla Model Y (after all the fuss about Elon Musk).
Admittedly, for many people it takes some getting used to seeing an Audi with a charging socket, but Audi has done everything it can to convey the Audi feeling to the plug-in car, with plenty of luxury and a sleek, modern design. At the same time, the model is equipped with a powerful engine that delivers 201 hp with 310 Nm.
Audi has also placed another important issue high on the agenda, namely charging speed. Thanks to the powerful on-board charger, you can charge from 10% to 80% in less than half an hour with a DC charging station. If you want to charge the Q4 e-tron optimally at home, use a 3-phase 11 kW charging station. This is the maximum charging speed for AC charging, as the on-board charger cannot charge any faster. You can fully charge the Audi Q4 e-tron's battery with this charging station in about 8 hours.
The Audi Q4 e-tron has become a success for Audi, the first model to be made in Zwickau since the car manufacturer's pre-war history. In the United Kingdom, it became the second best-selling electric car in 2024, and in the Netherlands, the Audi Q4 e-tron was the best-selling Audi (not just electric) in 2022. Looking at the total sales figures for the Netherlands as a whole, we see this picture reflected strongly. At the time of writing (the model is still in production), more than 15,000 units have already been sold, putting it well ahead of the Audi e-tron and seemingly setting its sights on the Audi A5 (20,000 units sold) and the Audi 100 (idem).
