Cheap windscreen replacement for your BMW 2-Series

The BMW 2-Series was born out of the BMW 1-Series, from which the German car manufacturer extracted two models that took on a life of their own. The two-door models of the 2-Series were to be succeeded by the 7-seater, which would be called the BMW 2-Series Gran Tourer, but the 2-Series was never a great success in the Netherlands. If you have a BMW 2-Series and you need a windscreen replacement, you can of course come to us. As the largest price fighter in the field of automotive glass in the Netherlands and Belgium, we can offer new BMW 2-Series windscreens at very competitive prices.

Before we go into the exact price of a new BMW 2-Series windscreen, let's take a look at the special model that couldn't even come close to the success of the BMW 1-Series.

The BMW 2-Series; secretly not a new model at all

The BMW 2-Series was not a new model at the time of its introduction. Its lineage is based on the German E82 (BMW Series 1 Coupé) and E88 (BMW Series 1 Convertible). The Series-2 would in turn be the basis of the F87 M2, which can best be compared to a racing car. Although the BMW 2-Series itself can build up quite a bit of speed, the emphasis in the standard models has been more on comfort.

In 2021, the second generation (G42) of the BMW 2-Series was launched. Once again, rear-wheel drive was chosen, and this time the CLAR platform was chosen, with the new 2-Series sharing many parts with the 3-Series from BMW. For the second generation, only a coupé version was chosen; the convertible was dropped. The 2-Series has also been equipped with a more comprehensive engine package, including a charging hybrid and a version with the M240i xDrive top engine. The G42 version of the BMW 2-Series is the first BMW to be designed and produced entirely in Mexico.

Back to the F87 M2 from BMW

The BMW 2-Series was never a huge success, but car enthusiasts are bound to think of the F87 M2 from the 2-Series when they hear the name. This top model was equipped with an engine that produced 370 hp and 500 Nm of torque with apparent ease from its 6-cylinder in-line, with 0 to 100 km/h taking just over 4 seconds.

The appeal of this model cannot be captured in words, which is why we would like to leave you to the advertisement of BMW itself;

Was the BMW 2-Series a flop in the Netherlands?

Not at all, but we cannot call it a success either. The BMW 2-Series was sold more than 4,000 times, but the BMW 2-Serie Gran Tourer, with more than 15,000 units sold in the Netherlands, slipped to the top of the rankings for BMW. This MPW is the larger BMW 2-Series Active Tourer. Where the Active version has one rear seat, the Gran Tourer has two.

When does the windscreen of the BMW 2-Series need to be replaced?

There are many ways in which the windscreen of your BMW 2-Series can be damaged. In most cases, there is no need to panic. A small crack is almost never a reason for a vehicle rejection or windscreen replacement. Only if the chip has a diameter of at least 20 millimetres and is in the driver's field of vision it requires a windscreen replacement. This also applies to a branched crack in your field of vision. Small chips in other places or single cracks do not constitute grounds for rejection. However, it is wise to keep an eye on the windscreen damage as the glass could crack further.

Can I replace the windscreen of my BMW 2-Series myself?

If you're unsure whether you can replace the windscreen yourself, our answer is always 'no'. Replacing a windscreen is a job for the specialist. They'll make sure the glass is fitted correctly, preventing damage to your car and the risk of it flying off in an abrupt braking incident. Do you have experience in windscreen replacement, or do you run a garage and are looking for a new windscreen for a customer? Then of course you can order the new windscreens from us without fitting, or even collect them from us.

What does a new BMW 2-Series windscreen cost?

You can have a new BMW 2-Series windscreen for as little as € 299, even for a new windscreen with a camera and rain sensor. This is the price without installation and delivery. In the menu, you can easily specify whether you want fitting and/or delivery, plus how much of a rush you are in. When you make a choice, the price shown will be adjusted immediately so you know exactly what you pay for the new BMW 2-Series windscreen.

How can these new BMW 2-Series windscreens be offered so affordably?

Our prices are much lower than the numbers your BMW dealer presents to you and there is a good reason for that. Your dealer only sells branded windscreens that have a logo, which makes them exclusive. Our aftermarket windscreens do not have a logo. Partly because this logo literally does nothing for the windscreen. However, our aftermarket windscreens are produced in the same factories as the brand-name windscreens, so you can be sure that the quality is identical. The only big difference is in the price. If you do not want to pay too much for a new BMW 2-Series windscreen, you should choose us.
