Cheap windscreen replacement for your Skoda Roomster

The Skoda Roomster was Skoda's first model after its takeover by Volkswagen, but it would not be a great success. Indeed, you could say it was one of the last models that struggled to compete and ended an era when this car manufacturer could not keep up with the brands that dominated in Western Europe. Some 3,000 units were sold in the Netherlands, which is indicative of the picture we already painted. Do you own a Roomster and need a windscreen replacement? Then we have good news, because you have come to the place where you can find car windows with the best value for money, including the option to arrange windscreen replacement on-site directly.

2006-2015: the production years of the Skoda Roomster

Of course, we look first at the Roomster, which was built on the A4 platform from Volkswagen and would carry some parts from the Skoda Fabia. The most striking features are undoubtedly the side windows next to the rear seat, which are placed much lower than in other models. Something that was often mentioned in marketing, as this would give a completely new dimension to riding in the car, especially for small children.

2010, the facelift for the Roomster

Sales figures were disappointing, however, so Skoda decided to do a facelift in 2010, with new front end, new lights and a modified steering wheel. Also, the models were now fitted with a 1.2-litre (instead of the 1.4 and 1.6) to make the Roomster significantly more fuel efficient, in the hope that this might succeed in bringing consumers to the dealer. That was not the case and shortly after the facelift, the curtain fell on the Roomster.

In 2015, plans emerged for the second generation of the Roomster, a copy of the Volkswagen Caddy that was supposed to ensure that the model did make it into the top lists. Two months after developing a design, the plans disappeared into the dustbin and Skoda opted to make an entirely new model, the Skoda Kodiaq.

The Skoda Praktik

Incidentally, another special edition of the Roomster was launched in 2007, a 2-door model with sliding doors. This was supposed to be an ideal model for businesses, but was soon called a camper van. This model was not sold in the Netherlands.

Has the Skoda Roomster become a successful model?

Whereas we normally look at sales figures to determine whether a particular model has become successful, this is not necessary in the case of the Skoda Roomster. In fact, it is abundantly clear that this model has left a nasty taste in Skoda's management. From 2007, the carmaker saw sales figures of all models increase sharply and Skoda's name in European territory kept getting better and better, but the Skoda Roomster was the model that did not keep up with this picture. Sales figures fell sharply
and in 2010 Skoda took the model out of production. In 2012, the Roomster returned briefly, at a more competitive price, but the carmaker would take the Roomster out of production again just a year later.

We would like to take the opportunity here to show one of the strangest car commercials that has been aired in the Netherlands. Although tastes differ, many people will agree that this is a less than successful attempt to “squeeze” humour into a car advert in the hope that it will catch on.
