The Alfa Romeo 75 is a model with a loaded name. It was the last model produced by Alfa Romeo before it was taken over by Fiat, and fortunately, the 75 became a reasonably big success, allowing Alfa Romeo to round off its portfolio on a high note. If you have an Alfa Romeo 75 and need to replace the windscreen of your car, you have come to the right place. We offer affordable automotive glass without compromising on quality. Before we go into that further, let's first take a look at this special Alfa Romeo.
1985 was the year Alfa Romeo turned 75, and indeed, that is where the name of this model comes from. The Alfa Romeo 75 was to be a compact car, but in the higher segment with more attention to comfort and luxury. One of the biggest advantages of this model was its perfect balance and excellent road holding, together with the exceptionally advanced (for its time) dashboard with Alfa Romeo Control, which monitored the engine during all journeys. And that road holding and control were, of course, perfect selling points:
A striking feature of the Alfa Romeo 75 is that the 2.5-litre models for the North American and European markets are not the same. The models for the American market had to be modified to comply with guidelines and laws, including the addition of thicker bumpers, a larger fuel tank placed behind the rear seat and special hooks under the bonnet to prevent it from popping up during a crash.
In the spring of 1987, the Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo Evoluzione was released, but only 500 units were to be produced. The development and production of this model had a very specific reason. The Alfa Romeo 75 was not allowed to be used for racing because it did not comply with the guidelines. That is why the Turbo Evoluzione was created, which had a 1762 cc engine (and not 1779 like the standard 75), putting it just outside the first class (where it would be at a huge disadvantage). Most examples of this model were sold in Italy itself, and the Alfa Romeo Turbo Evoluzione was never marketed with a right-hand drive.
The Alfa Romeo 75 had a relatively short production period. The model was manufactured from 1985 to 1992. Nevertheless, more than 385,000 units were made and sold, which is an excellent score for Alfa Romeo. The success could have been even greater, but Fiat decided to discontinue the larger version of the Alfa Romeo 75 (estate).
The risk of windscreen damage is inevitable when you use your Alfa Romeo 75 regularly. A small stone can be enough to cause an unsightly crack in your windscreen, but not all types of windscreen damage mean that your windscreen actually needs to be replaced. On the contrary, in most cases you can simply continue driving with windscreen damage in your Alfa Romeo. However, if the damage is in the driver's field of vision and is a branched crack or a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres, then windscreen replacement is necessary. The damage can no longer be repaired and your car will fail its next MOT.
Have you decided to continue driving with the windscreen damage because it is minor and/or outside the driver's field of vision? Please note: the windscreen may crack further when the temperature difference on both sides of the windscreen increases. If you have the air conditioning on full blast during a hot summer day, the windscreen damage may increase, after which windscreen replacement will suddenly become necessary. Until then, however, you can still drive your Alfa Romeo 75, although our low prices below may convince you to opt for windscreen replacement right away.
We offer a new Alfa Romeo 75 windscreen for only €299, including VAT. This makes our new Alfa Romeo 75 windscreens considerably cheaper than the original windscreens, while the quality is identical. Our unbranded replacement windscreens do not feature an exclusive brand logo, which means that the price is much lower. Even second-hand windscreens for this model are often still more expensive than our new automotive glass, while with used car windows you never really know what you are getting and whether this window can actually be fitted in your Alfa Romeo 75 without any problems!
Doing your own car repairs is fun and can save you a lot of money, especially with the rates that garages charge these days. However, when it comes to replacing the windscreen of your Alfa Romeo 75, we advise against doing it yourself. Even a small mistake can damage your car, break the new windscreen or send you to the doctor. To give you complete peace of mind, we work with professional fitting partners who replace car windows on-site (both in the Netherlands and Belgium).
Are you an experienced professional yourself or do you know someone who can replace the windscreen of your Alfa Romeo 75? Then you have come to the right place. You can also choose to order the new windscreen without fitting and even without delivery.
