Windscreen replacement Lynk & Co: affordable and quickly arranged online

When you use a car on a daily basis, you often run the risk of damage to it. Even if you drive carefully, pay close attention when parking and do not break any traffic rules, it can just happen that a pebble splashes under the tyre of your car in front and hits the windscreen of your Lynk & Co. Don't worry, because on this page you will read everything you want to know about car windscreen damage to your Lynk & Co, when the windscreen needs to be replaced and, of course, where to go for windscreen replacement.

The Lynk & Co car brand

The story behind the Lynk & Co car brand is somewhat remarkable. Initially, Volvo was a major shareholder in the company and Lynk & Co was owned by China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, which was keen to establish a brand that was better than Geely Auto itself, but would not reach the high standard of Volvo itself.

The first model was made in Gothenburg by CEVT, or China Euro Vehicle Technology AB (a Swedish company that is a subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding), which incidentally also collaborated on the production of the Volvo 40 series. After the first model (the Lynk & Co 01) hit the market in 2016, electric cars were expected from the brand, but Geely Holding decided to set up another new brand for it called ZEEKR. Incidentally, the platform for the model was also used by Polestar.

Lynk & Co is often called “one of the Chinese car brands”, but that stamp is unjustified. In fact, the company is Swedish. The fact that Chinese Geely is part-owner does not change that. However, the fact remains that you will mostly come across this name in lists that also mention NIO, WEY, HAVAL and BYD, which can indeed be called genuine Chinese brands.

What about Lynk & Co windscreens?

While the story behind the brand may come across as a bit strange, the Lynk & Co models are simply solid cars designed and developed with a lot of Swedish knowledge. Of course, this also applies to the automotive glass, which has to meet strict requirements before new car models are allowed into the European market.

Windscreens must be made of laminated glass, which means that two layers of glass are used that are held together by a layer of PVB film.
This ensures that the windscreen cannot shatter into thousands of pieces in case of damage, and that makes automotive glass significantly safer and ensures fewer (or no) injuries in an accident. It also means that you can get a chip or crack in the window, something that is not possible with tempered side windows of your car, for example. Thanks to the manufacturing method of automotive glass, the windscreen always stays together, even with severe windscreen damage, making it extra safe for occupants.

By no means in all cases of windscreen damage do you have to look for a new Lynk & Co windscreen. Dutch law only has rules about windscreen damage in the driver's field of vision. If there is a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres or a branched crack in the windscreen of your Lynk & Co, then the windscreen has to be replaced. This is because in these cases, the car will be rejected at the MOT and is no longer fit for driving. This is because the damaged windscreen can cause (very) dangerous situations while driving, for instance when the damage distracts or obstructs vision, or reflects incoming light in an unpredictable way. In all other cases, the choice is yours and you decide whether you want to replace the windscreen (or have it replaced).

How to save a lot on a new windscreen for your Lynk & Co

Windscreens are not cheap. In fact, for almost all cars, windscreens are the most expensive windows, with it also being the one with the highest risk of damage. Yet there is an easy way to save on the cost of car windows. That's because we have replacement unbranded windscreens for your Lynk & Co that are significantly cheaper the ones with a brand logo. By the way, that logo in the original windows does nothing for the car or the glass, it merely creates an exclusive nature that you, the customer, pay for without getting anything in return.

The quality of our automotive glass is identical to the windscreens found at dealerships, but because we don't include exclusive characters in the price, you will be much cheaper for your new Lynk & Co windscreen with us. The price difference is so great that our new windscreens are often still cheaper than used automotive glass, while with our car windows you can always count on availability, quality and optimal ordering convenience.
