The Honda Concerto is one of the models with which the Japanese brand wanted to respond directly to the European market and to make that possible, Honda teamed up with a European car manufacturer. Although the Concerto would only be in production for eight years, it became a reasonable success and thousands were also sold in the Netherlands. If you have a Concerto whose windscreen needs replacing, you have come to the right place. We sell cheap car windows, without you having to compromise on quality. Before we surprise you with the price of a new Honda Concerto windscreen, we first make room for this special model that had to conquer Europe.
Although the Honda Concerto was designed for the European market, the model entered the Japanese market as early as 1988 as a front-wheel-drive saloon. The liftback version and all-wheel drive came a month later, but Europe had to wait until the end of 1989 for the Concerto to be made in collaboration with Austin Rover Group.
The idea was to make a model that would seamlessly fit the European market, but Honda soon encountered a problem. Indeed, in many European countries and in Australia, the model was only offered as a 5-door liftback, so as not to compete with its own 4-door Honda Civic, but did not work in the Concerto's own favour.
Despite the reasonable success of the Honda Concerto, the model would be withdrawn from production as early as 1995, partly because the Rover 200 and Rover 400 did much better in the UK, but also because Austin Rover Group would be taken over by BMW in 1994. In the books, the Honda Concerto's production period, incidentally, runs a year longer, until 1996. This is due to the fact that a Rover diesel model was made that would be sold under the Honda Concerto name, a year after the actual model had already been taken out of production.
The Honda Concerto was made on the same platform as the Honda Civic, but was given more features and was thus placed higher up the market, in order to compete with European carmakers. In retrospect, the collaboration with Rover, which was supposed to ensure a connection with the European market, seems to have hurt more than helped.
What is a flop, however, is one of the commercials made for this model, as the clip below is downright unusual in the world of car commercials.
Damage to the car is always annoying, but damage to the windscreen can also be extremely dangerous in addition, especially when it is directly in the driver's view. Therefore, there are strict rules around windscreen damage and it is easy to determine when the windscreen needs to be replaced. If the windscreen damage is in the driver's field of vision and is a chip at least two centimetres in diameter or is a branched crack, you should not continue driving. The windscreen must be replaced as this damage is too distracting while driving, obstructs your view of the road and can reflect incoming light in unpredictable ways, meaning you may be blinded while driving.
If the damage is in a different place or the extent is limited, you may choose to continue driving with the window damage. However, we especially ask you to look at the price of a new Honda Concerto windscreen below first, as this can definitely influence the choice you make.
In fact, you already have a new Honda Concerto windscreen for just €299 and that price includes VAT. This makes our automotive glass much cheaper than the windscreens at your Honda dealer, while the quality is identical. The big difference in price is caused by the brand logo in the original windscreens. This logo does nothing for the automotive glass itself, but it does add exclusivity and that is factored into the price.
We only offer replacement car windows for the Honda Concerto and all other car models, because we know that the value for money of this automotive glass is the best choice for our customers.
You can save a lot by choosing our Honda Concerto windscreens, but can you save even more by replacing the windscreen yourself? If you have little or no experience in replacing windscreens, we strongly advise against it. The chances are that this will actually cause extra costs, as even a small mistake can cause the new windscreen or your car to be damaged. That is why we work with professional fitting partners who replace car windows on-site throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. If you do have the necessary experience and tools, you can of course also come to us for new windscreens excluding fitting.
Do you have a Honda Concerto whose windscreen needs to be replaced and you do not want to pay too much, but at the same time do not want to compromise on quality either? Then choose us. We supply high-quality automotive glass at the lowest prices to private individuals and companies and always ensure optimal ordering convenience.
