The Alfa Romeo MiTo has been a reasonably successful model for Alfa Romeo, which wanted to stay true to its origins with this car, which is also reflected in its name. The Alfa Romeo MiTo sold well in the Netherlands and there are still quite a few of them hitting the streets every day. Do you have a MiTo and do you need to replace the windscreen? Then you can find cheap new windscreens without compromising on quality. Before we surprise you with the low price of a new Alfa Romeo MiTo windscreen, let's take a look together at this model with the unusual name.
The Alfa Romeo MiTo was in production from 2008 to 2018 (although sales continued into 2019), although Alfa Romeo itself promised that production would continue, just like of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta (which was also taken out of production).
A front-wheel-drive model, the MiTo is a supermini, which was meant to be of particular interest to people who drive a lot in cities. The model was placed on the Fiat Small platform, along with the Fiat Grande Punto. The name MiTo is a contraction of two Italian cities, Milan and Turin (Torino in Italian), respectively the city where the model was developed and the city where the models rolled out of the factories.
The model gained considerable popularity in 2010 and that was no coincidence. That was the year a new gearbox was put in the MiTo, made by Fiat and with a whopping 350 Nm of torque, which would make this a mean mini since the model's weight is just right for being low.
In 2016 came a small facelift, with the front end being tweaked and new colours available. This would be the last modification before the curtain fell on the MiTo.
Alfa Romeo likes to make many special versions of its models and the MiTo was no exception. Back in 2009, for instance, it showed the Quadrifiglio Verde (four-leaf clover), a model that was much sportier and got an engine with 168 hp. The models made after 2014 could get from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 7.3 seconds, which would completely lose the model's image as a city car.
Some other notable versions were the Alfa Romeo MiTo Maserati Version (Alfa Romeo for Maserati), the MiTo Racer (sportier version with numerous engines), the MiTo GTA (the sportiest version of the model) and the MiTo FCEV (a hydrogen-powered car).
You would think that Alfa Romeo would be proud of the model and would know how to (commission) a flashy, attractive advertisement about it, in order to get buyers to the dealers en masse. Watch and judge for yourself.
Windscreen damage can be quite dangerous, especially when the damage is in the driver's field of vision. This is why the rules are strict in these cases. Is it a branched crack or a chip with a diameter of 20 millimetres or more that is in the driver's field of vision? Then the windscreen must be replaced. The damage distracts too much while driving and incoming light can be reflected in unpredictable ways, which can cause you to be blinded while driving. Also, your car will no longer pass the MOT with this damage.
Is the damage in a different place or does the chip or crack have a limited size? Then you may choose to continue driving with the windscreen damage. However, first check the price of a new Alfa Romeo MiTo windscreen below, because chances are you will want to replace it.
If you opt for our replacement windscreens, you will have a new Alfa Romeo MiTo windscreen for just €349, including VAT. This is much cheaper than what the Alfa Romeo dealer tells you, which is remarkable because the production method and quality of the windscreens are identical. The price difference is in the brand logo incorporated in the original windscreens, which gives them an exclusive character, which mainly means a higher price. So with us, you will always find affordable automotive glass without compromising on quality because we do not have exclusive brand logos incorporated into the windows.
Car repairs and maintenance yourself is an excellent way to save money, especially if you are handy and know about cars. However, replacing the windscreen yourself does not belong in the list of jobs that can save you money. Windscreens are large and heavy, which means that there is a high risk of damage to the new windscreen or your car, which will only result in extra costs as well as being unable to use the car for even longer. To give you the best possible service, we work with professional fitting partners who replace car windows on-site. Since our partners also come to your car, you never have to go out on the street with a damaged windscreen yourself.
Are you a windscreen replacement professional yourself or do you know someone who can replace the Alfa Romeo MiTo windscreen for you? Then you can also come to us for new car windows without fitting. In addition, many garage owners choose to collect their order from us to save even more on costs. This is only possible by appointment, as we would like to make sure that your car windows are ready when you arrive.
