Affordable windscreen replacement for your Alfa Romeo GT

The Alfa Romeo GT is the end of an era at Alfa Romeo and that is mainly due to the name associated with this model and the fact that the GT marked the end of a long association with the Italian car manufacturer. A resounding success the Alfa Romeo GT never became, but at the same time it is a strong piece of design art and showed the carmaker's ability to stay true to its own philosophy and not constantly bow to Fiat.

Do you own an Alfa Romeo GT and need a windscreen replacement? Then you can find affordable new car windows without compromising on quality. Before we tell you how cheap a new Alfa Romeo GT windscreen is with us, let's take a look at the particular history of this model.

2003-2010: the production period of the Alfa Romeo GT

The name is Giovanni Bertone, founder of Gruppe Bertone, the company that designed cars for Alfa Romeo for a long time, but the GT would be the last model Bertone designed for Alfa Romeo in 2003. The GT was built on the Fiat C platform (also used in the Fiat Bravo, Fiat Marea, Lancia Lybra, Alfa Romeo 156 and Alfa Romeo 147) and was to be manufactured in Pomigliano alongside the Alfa Romeo 147 and Alfa Romeo 159, despite Bertone's express wish to build the model in his own factories.

The Alfa Romeo GT is heavily based on the Alfa Romeo 147 and 156 in terms of mechanics, and the interior was also inspired by the Alfa Romeo 147. As its name suggests, the GT was positioned in the sportier market segment alongside the Alfa Romeo Brera.

The GT was a more luxurious model with six airbags, power steering, heated side mirrors, cruise control, heated seats, satellite navigation and numerous other extra features, which made it a more expensive and exclusive model.

Was the Alfa Romeo GT a success for the car manufacturer?

This can, of course, be seen in the sales figures. Although the Alfa Romeo GT was in production for over seven years, only 80,000 units were made. This is fine for a more exclusive car, but at the same time mediocre for a brand like Alfa Romeo. In the Netherlands, the GT sold just over 2,500 units,
putting the model on a par with models such as the Alfa Romeo 166 and the Alfa Romeo Giulia.

Does that say it all? Not exactly, because the Alfa Romeo GT has always had a special status, especially because Alfa Romeo proved that it could remain true to its own origins and that it could still make sporty, luxurious cars. This is also reflected in the advertisement below.

Did you know that there is another version of this advert? It is exactly the same, with the only difference being that the man behind the wheel is sitting in a GT with the steering wheel on the other side. A clever trick to make the model more international.

And to conclude, simply because we can, here is a video showing why this model is still so popular, especially when the car is as well maintained as the model used in the video.

When should the windscreen of the Alfa Romeo GT be replaced?

Windscreen damage can be very dangerous, but in most cases, the windscreen of your Alfa Romeo GT does not need to be replaced. On the contrary, in most cases, you can simply continue driving with windscreen damage. This is not the case if the damage is in the driver's field of vision and is a branched crack or a chip with a diameter of at least 2 centimetres. In these cases, the damage is too distracting while driving and you may be blinded when incoming light is reflected in unpredictable ways.

How much does a new Alfa Romeo GT windscreen cost?

Does your windscreen need replacing, or would you like to have it replaced yourself to ensure your car looks smart again? You can find a new Alfa Romeo GT windscreen with us for just €349. This includes VAT and excludes additional costs for fitting and/or delivery. When you specify what you want, the page will adjust the price immediately.

Our windscreens for the Alfa Romeo GT are considerably cheaper than those from the Alfa Romeo dealer, while the quality is identical. The difference in price lies in the logo incorporated into the original car glass. That logo does nothing, but it does give the car an exclusive character for which you pay hundreds of pounds more. The absence of the Alfa Romeo logo means that you can always find new windscreens with the best value for money at our company.

Can you replace the Alfa Romeo GT windscreen yourself?

Is it wise to replace the windscreen yourself in order to save even more money? That is not the case. If you attempt to replace the windscreen without the right knowledge and experience, there is a good chance that you will damage the new windscreen or your car, which means that the costs will actually be considerably higher. To give you complete peace of mind, we work with professional fitting partners who replace car windows on-site in the Netherlands and Belgium. This means you can be back on the road in no time with an intact, clean windscreen and a clear view of the road.

Are you a professional yourself or do you know someone who can replace the Alfa Romeo GT windscreen for you? Then you can of course also come to us for new car windows without fitting. Are you a garage owner and would you like to purchase several windows at once so that you can help different customers? In that case, you can even choose to collect your order from us (only possible by appointment).
