The Alfa Romeo 4C is one of the most striking models from Italy, as it seems that Alfa Romeo drew inspiration for this model from McLaren and Ferrari. Although the model was only in production for 7 years and (obviously) did not become a resounding market success, the 4C is a model that many car enthusiasts are familiar with. Do you own an Alfa Romeo 4C and need its windscreen replaced? Then you can find cheap new windscreens with us, without compromising on quality. Before we go into this in more detail, we would like to take a closer look at the Alfa Romeo 4C with you.
A car that certainly does not go unnoticed, as back in 2011 the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept triumphed with the Auto Bild Design Award as “Most Beautiful Concept Car of the Year” and in 2012 it was awarded the coveted Design Award for Concept Cars & Prototypes by the enthusiastic public at the prestigious Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.
However, it took until 2013 until the Alfa Romeo 4C was first shown to the public and it was immediately clear that this would be one of the sportiest Alfa's. Initially, the 4C would only be available as a coupé; the Spider version came in 2015, completing the complete 4C line-up.
Alfa Romeo expected around 2,500 units per year to roll out of the factory. This low number is due to a number of factors. First of all, the 2-seater is not really a family car or a car used to get groceries. Also, the entry price was relatively high (above €75,000), which always ensures that such cars do not sell like hot cakes.
The Alfa Romeo 4C is and was a standout. Partly because of its many collaborations to deliver the best parts and performance, and its extreme engine performance, which ensure that this model takes less than 4.5 seconds to get from standstill to 100 kilometres per hour.
Numerous special editions have been made of this model, including the Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition (a limited number of models at launch in 2013), which was marketed in Europe for €60,000 (excluding VAT). The Alfa Romeo Competizione is another standout model, which comes in all grey (Vesuvio Gray) and was also made in a limited edition.
The Alfa Romeo 4C has also been used in motorsport, but most people do not know it as a race car, but rather the safety car used in the SBK Super World Championship. The 4C has been running here since 2013 (except on the tracks in California where the Dodge Challenger is used).
While this is not surprising given the model's exclusivity and the fact that it is for a niche market, Alfa Romeo will not have been happy with the results. Still, to end on a positive note, we have posted below the ad that aired for the Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition, the time when Alfa still thought it would be a success and was clearly proud of this model.
Although the Alfa Romeo is by no means a standard car that you will regularly encounter on the road, exactly the same rules apply to this model as to any other car. This means that the windscreen of the Alfa Romeo 4C must be replaced when there is a chip at least 2 centimetres in diameter in the windscreen, or a branched crack, but only when it is in the driver's field of vision. This is the part of the windscreen directly above the steering wheel. With this windscreen damage, you should not continue driving, as the damage is too distracting while driving and incoming light (e.g. from the sun or the headlights of oncoming traffic) can be reflected in an unpredictable way, which can cause glare.
If the damage is in another part of the windscreen or if the size is limited, you may continue driving with the damaged windscreen. However, be sure to take a look at the price of a new Alfa Romeo 4C windscreen below first, as it is not nearly as expensive to get your 4C back in optimum condition as you may think.
Because you already have a new Alfa Romeo 4C windscreen for just €1499. This is considerably cheaper than the original windscreens for this model, while the quality of the automotive glass is identical. We can offer our windscreens so cheaply because there is no brand logo used in the window and because the exclusive character is missing, you can save hundreds of euros.
Replacing a windscreen is a difficult and extensive job and since the Alfa Romeo 4C is a more expensive and exclusive model, it is not wise to experiment with it yourself. After all, there is a good chance that you will damage the new windscreen or the car, or not fit the window correctly, which could cause problems later on. To make things as easy as possible for you, we cooperate with professional fitting partners who replace car windows on location throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. So you never have to look for a workshop or take to the streets with a badly damaged windscreen to arrange for a new one, our partners always come to you.
