Cheap windscreen replacement for your Alfa Romeo 156

The Alfa Romeo 156 was a model that was supposed to ensure that Alfa Romeo enthusiasts would come back to the brand after the mediocre appearance and performance of the Alfa Romeo 155. It succeeded, as the Alfa Romeo 156 not only shone in sales figures, but also managed to win numerous awards and became a favourite in motorsport. If you have an Alfa Romeo 156 whose windscreen needs to be replaced, you will find new car windows at attractive prices with us, without compromising on quality. Before we surprise you with the low price of a new Alfa Romeo 156 windscreen, let's take a look back at this model with which Alfa Romeo managed to put itself back on the map.

1997: the introduction of the Alfa Romeo 156

When Alfa Romeo showed the Alfa Romeo 156 in 1996, it was clear that designer Walter de Silva
wanted to use it to make an authentic Alfa again and not lean on the Alfa Romeo 155, which was secretly just a copy of the Lancia Delta. The design of the new model took a lot of inspiration from the Alfa Romeo 1900,
Alfa Romeo Guilietta and the Alfa Romeo Guilia.

Within a fairly short time, the compact exclusive 156 was already joined by other versions, including the saloon version, estate version and the Crosswagon (a crossover). With the wide number of versions, types and a wide engine range, Alfa Romeo ensured that the 156 would be of interest to a variety of buyers, something that no doubt contributed to its success.

2002 and 2003: two facelifts for the Alfa Romeo 156

The same can be said of the facelifts in 2002 and 2003, which prepared the Alfa Romeo 156 to compete with other models, as the model became more attractive and modern, and gained more features such as xenon lights, a Bose stereo system and modifications to the Selespeed gearbox, which now featured flippers instead of buttons on the steering wheel. Many of the new features and modifications, incidentally, were carried over from the new Alfa Romeo 147.

The 2003 facelift was mainly characterised by the new front end and the arrival of a new type, the Turismo Internazionale (TI). This model got 17-inch rims, completely new suspension and the interior was fitted with considerably more leather.

European car of the year in 1998

Every year a European car of the year is crowned, and in 1998 the Alfa Romeo 156 got that title.
Out of 56 automotive journalists, as many as 40 people chose the 156, mainly because of its suspension and pleasant handling and reactions to the steering wheel. This would only be the beginning of this model's trophy cabinet, which managed to win more than 35 awards in total.

This makes it even less surprising that the Italian police used the Alfa Romeo 156 for many years, until this model would be traded in for the more modern Alfa Romeo 159.

The Alfa Romeo 156 in motorsport

The Alfa Romeo 155 had already been called the German nightmare, but with the 156 things didn't get much better for BMW and Mercedes, who were increasingly losing out. You can see for yourself a typical clip below, in which the Alfa Romeo 156 makes short work of the BMW M3.

The model's list of successes is long, although this is partly thanks to Fabrizio Giovanardi,
who showed wonderful things on the track with the Alfa Romeo 156, mainly in the Italian Super Touring Car Championship.

The success of the Alfa Romeo 156

Between 1996 and 2007, no fewer than 673,435 units of the Alfa Romeo 156 were made, leaving its predecessor (the 155) not even in its shadow. Its success has not only to do with the large, economical model itself, but also with its various versions (including the Sportwagon and the Crosswagon), as well as the many awards it received and its successes in motorsport, which gave the 156 a reliable and tough name.

In the Netherlands, the Alfa Romeo 156 also scored particularly well. More than 25,000 were sold,
putting it ahead of only the Alfa Romeo 33 on the list of best-selling Alfa Romeo models in the Netherlands. The Alfa Romeo 145 (third place) and the Alfa Romeo 147 (fourth place) do not even come close to the 156 in terms of sales numbers.

Alfa Romeo managed to snare actress Catherine Zeta-Jones for an advert for the Alfa Romeo 156, which has produced a very special result and may give you new ideas for getting into your Alfa Romeo 156 in a different way next time.

When should the windscreen of your Alfa Romeo 156 be replaced?

Car damage is always annoying, especially when replacement car parts are expensive and a lot of work goes into the repair. With that in mind, it is good to know when the windscreen of your Alfa Romeo 156 needs to be replaced and when you can continue driving with windscreen damage. Is the damage in the driver's field of vision and is this a chip with a diameter of 2 centimetres or more, or is it a branched crack? Then you should not continue driving with the window damage and the car will be rejected at the MOT because it is no longer safe.

In all other cases, you can choose to continue driving. However, it may be wise to take a look below at the price of a new Alfa Romeo 156 windscreen, because with our prices, windscreen replacement itself is attractive when insurance does not cover it.

What does a new Alfa Romeo 156 windscreen cost?

Because with us, you already have a new Alfa Romeo 156 windscreen for just €299 and this includes VAT. Our prices are much lower than those of suppliers of original windscreens and this is not due to the quality, because it is identical. The price difference is in the brand logo embedded in the original automotive glass, which gives these windows an exclusive character. We do not participate in this, because the exclusive character only increases the price and does nothing for the automotive glass.

In concrete terms, this means that you can always come to us for automotive glass with the best price-quality ratio and optimal ordering convenience, because we are ready to help you personally.

Can you replace the Alfa Romeo 156 windscreen yourself?

Do you have little or no experience with replacing windscreens? Then we strongly discourage you from getting to work on replacing the Alfa Romeo 156 windscreen yourself, because even a small mistake or error of judgement can cause the job to cost a lot. To completely unburden you, we work with professional fitting partners who replace car windows on-site, so you can get back on the road safely in no time with an intact, clean windscreen you don't have to worry about yourself.
