Eindhoven is one of the Dutch cities that has experienced enormous explosive growth. What was once a fairly small city (albeit with city rights) quickly grew into an important city for the province of Noord-Brabant. Not only economically, but also in terms of cultural activities, a knowledge centre and a growing city with an ever-increasing supply of housing. In Eindhoven you can see young and old architecture come together, enjoy all the green the city has to offer and of course Stratumseind must not be missed; a record holder in the Netherlands.
You can visit the stadiums of two big football clubs, admire 140 national monuments, look at the many different religious buildings of various faiths and you can have a car window replacement in Eindhoven by online the largest automotive glass specialist of the Netherlands and Belgium. Before we look at the last point, let's put the city of Eindhoven in the limelight, of course with Philips light bulbs.
Most cities in the Netherlands came into being and grew organically. This does not apply to Eindhoven. This city was founded in the 13th century by Hendrik I of Brabant and was part of his city policy. The real growth of the city took place only in the 19th century. If you come from Noord-Brabant, you undoubtedly know that this has to do with the textile industry that attracted numerous workers from all over the Netherlands. Big names in this context are Elias, de Bara and De Haes, the largest textile factories that Eindhoven has known. Incidentally, Eindhoven had many more industries than just textiles; leather, matches, and cigar boxes were also made in large quantities. Another name that has been very important to Eindhoven and is still a big employer is DAF.
Eindhoven is a particularly lively city these days, and owes this in part to the employment opportunities provided by the DAF and Philips. Both have also ensured that Eindhoven has become a knowledge centre as well as an industrial hotspot. The 'industrial revolution' in this area has ensured that the cityscape is wondrous and surprising. Old buildings are interspersed with young, fresh architecture. In the inner city, these can literally be found side by side. Since relatively little was destroyed in Eindhoven during the Second World War (especially when compared to other cities in Noord-Brabant), the amount of older architecture here is certainly worth mentioning.
The Markt and surrounding stores offer more than enough shopping opportunities, and when visiting Eindhoven, don't miss Stratumseind. This is a record holder in the Netherlands; it is the longest cafe street on Dutch soil, with everything a true bon vivant could need. A great place to have a drink or a meal after visiting all the monuments in Eindhoven, or the Sint-Catharinakerk, Heilig Hart or Paterskerk. Or perhaps after a long walk through the many parks and gardens such as the Standswandelpark, the Genneper Park or the Karpendonkse Plas. By the way, did you know that the Parktheater in Eindhoven is one of the largest theaters in the Netherlands?
Eindhoven is of course always associated with Philips, it is not called the City of Light for nothing. PSV's stadium is the Philipsstadion, but PSV is not the oldest paid football club in Eindhoven, despite popular belief. That honor goes to FC Eindhoven, which was founded in 1909 and plays its home matches in the Jan Louwers Stadium.
You can come to Eindhoven Centrum by car, but parking here is fairly pricey. Also, it can be difficult to get into the centre itself when it is busier. Outside the centre are plenty of parking options that are a better option. For example, you can find 2000 parking spaces at the Woensel Shopping Centre and here, at the time of writing, you pay €3.50 for a whole day. That is the same rate as at P+R Meerhoven. Parking at the Philips Stadium costs € 6 for a whole day; there are buses to the centre but you can also easily walk to the centre.
Are you driving on the A2, A50, A67 or A270 in the direction of Eindhoven or back home and does a stone strike your windscreen? This can cause damage to your windscreen. Don't worry; often it is just a small crack with minimal size. Only when it's a chip with a diameter of at least 20 millimetres or a branched crack in the driver's field of vision will the windscreen have to be replaced. Your car with this kind of damage will not be approved for the MOT.
Has your car been broken into and did the burglar smash the side window? Then it should always be replaced. The side windows (and often rear windows) of the car are popular victims because they are made of tempered glass. They shatter into thousands of pieces when these car windows are smashed.
Does the windscreen need to be replaced because there is a large crack or branched tear in the field of vision? Or is the side or rear window smashed in and needs to be replaced? Then you have come to the right place if you want the best value for money. Our aftermarket car windows are of exactly the same quality as the windows at your brand dealer. However, because our automotive glass does not have a brand logo, the price of our car windows is much lower.
In addition, we always replace your windscreen on-site. Not only in Eindhoven, but throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. If you need a car window replacement in Limburg or if your car is parked somewhere in Tilburg, our certified fitting partners will come to you to replace the window.
