Car window replacement in Arnhem, or Èrnem

When it comes to big cities in the Netherlands, Amsterdam plays the leading role. When it comes to famous cities with a huge history, Arnhem also comes high on the list. The city that lies on the Lower Rhine and IJssel played a huge role of significance in World War II. Today it is a lively city, with Arnhem Centrum divided into eight quarters, where Vitesse plays in the Gelredome, as well as numerous world-famous artists, and you will find numerous sights and museums in the city. A rich history, a wide range of cultural activities, old and young architecture and at the same time a city where there is plenty to do.

Did you also know that we can replace your car window in Arnhem at any time and any location, and that as an automotive glass price fighter we can always offer the lowest prices? Before we go into that, let's turn the spotlight on Arnhem itself.

Arnhem and the last bridge that would lead to the hunger winter

If you know considerably about World War II, then Operation Market Garden probably sounds familiar to you. It was part of the Battle of Arnhem, in which the last bridge in particular was the stake, but the Allies failed. As a result, the western part of the Netherlands could not be liberated, which then had to deal with the infamous hunger winter of '44-'45.

In Arnhem you will find many monuments related to the battlefields of 1944. The Airborne Museum is highly recommended for history enthusiasts, as it was the largest operation on Dutch soil during the Second World War. Arnhem also suffered greatly during the Battle of Arnhem; there were numerous bombings by the Germans and the Allies, and the Canadians even flattened Geitenkamp, resulting in an unknown number of civilian casualties.

If you find this interesting and would like to know more about it, we recommend the film "A Bridge Too Far", a film in which the Arnhem bridge plays the main role.

What does Arnhem have to offer if you are not so interested in the Second World War?

You can soak up the culture in Arnhem in one of the many museums, such as the Open-Air Museum which shows how the Dutch have lived throughout the centuries. Burgers' Zoo, founded in 1913, is also a tourist attraction, along with Kronenburg and the Gelredome, where you can regularly see major artists perform. Or the yellow and black of course, who have been associated with the city of Arnhem since 1892.

You will find many different sights and tourist attractions in Arnhem and you might like to know why this is so common in Arnhem. In the 19th century, many wealthier people from the Randstad came to Arnhem because it was a tax haven compared to the west. When the migration flow slowed down and the richer population moved away from Arnhem (second half of the 19th century), attractions were set up to ensure that people would still come to Arnhem; even if they no longer lived there.

Since the Battle of Arnhem, however, the city has not had to worry about tourism. Thousands of people come to Arnhem every year, mostly for that one bridge.

Parking in Arnhem; what about it?

Do you want to explore the city and its shopping centers at your leisure and possibly even make a trip to the bridge, a museum or a monument? Then you will find several larger parking facilities outside Arnhem, such as the P+R at the Gelredome where you can park cheaply when there are no events. There are good connections to the city itself. You can also park in parking garages such as Musisgarage and Parking Rozet. In the city center you can also park along the street, but the rates are considerably higher. More information can be found on the website of the municipality of Arnhem.

Trivia fact about Arnhem and the first car

For years, Arnhem wrongly claimed a first. Adolf Zimmermans, a photographer from The Hague, had a Benz Victoria
brought to the Netherlands from Mannheim in 1896. It arrived at the Rijnkade in Arnhem, making it the first car to hit the road in the Netherlands. In retrospect, it turned out that this was not the first car in the Netherlands. That honor goes to Tilburg, where a car had been driving since 1895.

Replacing a car window in Arnhem at any desired location

Are you driving on the A12 or A50 and do you get a stone on the windscreen, then there is a chance that this will become a chip or a crack. No reason to panic, because in most cases you can continue driving. Only a chip of at least 20 millimetres or a branched crack in the driver's field of vision will be rejected by the MOT; in the meantime you can continue driving unless visibility is seriously restricted.

If the window damage is more serious, for example a branched crack that blocks your view or a side window smashed by a criminal, the car window has to be replaced in Arnhem. This is often much cheaper than you think. If you choose our aftermarket car windows, you are choosing the best price-quality ratio. Our windows are identical to the glass at your dealer, only our windows do not have a brand logo. That's why our prices are much lower

To make it even easier for you, our certified fitting partners replace car windows on site throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. So you can let us caried out a windscreen replacement in Arnhem, or choose to drive home first so we can replace your windscreen in Utrecht. Or even in Nijmegen, when the car is in the parking lot of your work.
